New Year’s is a good time to make nutrition related resolutions and set goals. Set reasonable goals. Make realistic goals so that they will evoke sustainable changes in your life. I have listed a few ideas for changes in the coming year.
• Cut back on one high calorie food at a time.
• Add more vegetables to your meals. At least half of your plate.
• Start your day by drinking 16oz. of water every day.
• Take your time when eating. Focus on appreciating the taste and satiety.
• Eliminate guilty feelings that you may associate with certain foods. Everything is intended to be enjoyed, in moderation.
• Eat breakfast EVERY DAY! Even if it’s just a banana and yogurt.
• Make sure that you always have healthful food choices in your home. If you don’t buy Ben and Jerry’s, you won’t eat it.
• Focus on being aware of your level of fullness when eating.
• Take one step at a time.
• Stay positive and be grateful.
